After a number of rumours and leaked images regarding OnePlus' upcoming successor to the OnePlus 5, we now have the first press render of the OnePlus 5T (or at least half of it) courtesy popular tipster Evan Blass. The image tweeted by Blass pretty much confirms that the OnePlus 5T will sport slimmer bezels on the top (and likely the bottom) as has been reported for weeks now.
The image doesn't give us a complete look at the OnePlus 5T as it only shows the top half of the smartphone, which is enough to tell us that the phone will sport a near bezel-less design. It also keeps in line with past reports that the OnePlus 5T will sport an 18:9 aspect ratio as it will look to compete against other full-screen flagships we've seen this year like the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and iPhone X, among others.
The tweet doesn't mention any other detail regarding the OnePlus 5T. Based on past reports, the upcoming smartphone is expected to sport a 6-inch (1080x2160) display, but It is also possible that the OnePlus 5T will keep the same 5.5-inch footprint like the OnePlus 5 only with a larger display. Slimmer bezels also suggests that the OnePlus 5T will not have a home button, and the fingerprint sensor could be moved to the back as has been seen in previous leaked images.
Since Qualcomm is yet to announce the Snapdragon 845 SoC, the OnePlus 5T will most likely go with the same Snapdragon 835 as the OnePlus 5. The smartphone will likely be offered in two variants, one with 6GB RAM and 64 internal storage and the other with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Past rumours suggest the cameras could get a bump as the rear is tipped to sport a pair of 20-megapixel sensors, while the front could also get a 20-megapixel sensor. The OnePlus 5T is tipped to run on Oxygen OS based on Android Oreo.
As of now, the specs of the OnePlus 5T are still hazy and one should take the above with a pinch of salt. However, the image tweeted by Blass is solid proof that the phone will indeed sport slimmer bezels, making it the company's first smartphone to sport a full-screen display. The OnePlus 5T could launch on November 16 based on a leaked screenshot of an Amazon listing
